Packaging Design Agency in Ireland
Packaging built to be recognised, understood and reproduced consistently across real product ranges.
We organise the front-of-pack hierarchy, brand architecture, variant system and production requirements before polishing surface graphics. That keeps the design strong when the range grows beyond the first SKU.
For Irish food, beverage, wellness, beauty and retail products, shelf recognition and production practicality need to work together. Claims, mandatory information and final artwork responsibilities are clarified before print.

Pack architecture comes before surface styling
We define what the buyer must notice first, what distinguishes the variant and which mandatory or supporting information belongs elsewhere. That hierarchy guides typography, colour, claims, imagery and the relationship between master brand and product name.
The system is then tested across the range. A strong hero pack can still fail if the second or tenth SKU becomes confusing. We build variant logic, naming space and layout rules so the design survives line extensions.
Production reality is part of design. Dielines, print processes, finishes, barcodes, legal copy and supplier specifications are integrated into the artwork workflow with responsibilities made clear in the proposal.

A useful proposal identifies the deliverables, languages, revision stages, approval owners, schedule and usage rights. Production, media, licences and third-party costs are itemised separately, and changes to the agreed scope are approved before additional work.

What the engagement can include
The scope is built around the problem, not around a pre-filled package. The following capabilities can be combined where they are genuinely required.
Pack architecture
Front, side and back information hierarchy planned across the full product family.
Box, label & container graphics
Artwork systems for cartons, labels, sleeves, pouches, bottles, jars or other agreed formats.
SKU differentiation
Colour, flavour, size and product-level coding designed to remain clear without fragmenting the brand.
Multilingual-ready layout
English, Irish-language or multilingual information zones planned around approved copy and required reading order.
Dieline application
Approved design adapted to supplier dielines with bleed, safe areas, folds, cuts and finishing notes.
Prepress coordination
Production files checked against confirmed print process, colour, material and finishing specifications before release.
When packaging needs a system rather than a single label
This service is strongest when brand, information hierarchy and multiple product variants need to be solved together. It is also useful when a range has grown inconsistently and needs a clearer master system before new SKUs are added.
If the product naming, positioning or master brand is still undecided, resolving strategy or identity first prevents the packaging from carrying too many unresolved decisions.
Use this scope when…
New FMCG, food, beverage, beauty or wellness products entering Irish retail or e-commerce.
Use this scope when…
Existing product families that have grown into inconsistent SKUs and need one coherent packaging system.
Use this scope when…
International brands adapting pack hierarchy or language architecture for Ireland and international rollout.
Do not force it when…
Packaging compliance is not legal advice. Required regulatory text, claims and category approvals must be confirmed by the client and appropriate Irish specialists.
A defined process from brief to measurable output
Audit product family
Collect SKUs, dimensions, claims, mandatory content, competitor packs and sales environments.Build hierarchy
Decide what the shopper sees first, second and at close range.Design concepts
Develop visual directions on realistic pack formats, not only flat moodboards.Extend SKUs
Stress-test the system across sizes, flavours, languages and product tiers.Prepare production
Apply approved artwork to supplier dielines and issue agreed prepress files.Deliverables and responsibilities
- Dieline discipline: Final artwork follows the confirmed supplier template; dimensions are not guessed from a mock-up.
- Copy ownership: Ingredients, nutrition, legal claims, barcodes and regulatory text are client/qualified-adviser approved before final release.
- Shelf hierarchy: The pack should remain identifiable when surrounded by competitors and when seen at small e-commerce thumbnail size.
- Finishing realism: Foil, emboss, varnish or special materials are designed with production feasibility and budget in mind.
- Scope boundary: Packaging compliance is not legal advice. Required regulatory text, claims and category approvals must be confirmed by the client and appropriate Irish specialists.
- Scope boundary: Physical prototyping, printing and procurement can be coordinated separately after the design and supplier specifications are confirmed.
Project budget
There is no useful single price without a defined scope. The commercial proposal should show which decisions, deliverables, production responsibilities and third-party costs are included so different suppliers can be compared on the same basis.
Quality and measurement
Shelf clarity
Can the shopper identify brand, product, variant and key benefit quickly?
Family logic
Do multiple SKUs look related while remaining easy to distinguish?
Information control
Are multilingual, regulatory and barcode zones readable without overwhelming the pack?
Production readiness
Can the chosen printer or manufacturer use the supplied artwork without preventable technical ambiguity?
Dublin is Ireland’s largest concentration of technology, finance, professional services, research, tourism and international business. Local relevance should reflect those real buying contexts, not just repeat the city name.
Market and delivery
Dublin City Council describes the capital as an open, international and diversified economy with major strengths in IT, financial services, research and development, tourism, culture, health sciences, food and craft, transport and logistics. Those sectors create different expectations for proof, messaging, conversion and project delivery.
Ali Tarhan Digital Atelier works internationally and does not claim a physical office in Dublin or elsewhere in Ireland. Strategy, design, search, media and campaign work can be led remotely. When filming, printing, event access, local production or another physical-market responsibility is required, that element is scoped separately with the client and suitable Irish suppliers.
Packaging Design Dublin
Buyers often need a new product identity, label system, SKU architecture or redesign ready for retail and e-commerce.
Food, Beverage & Craft
Dublin’s food, hospitality, brewing and distilling activity creates demand for packs that balance provenance, shelf impact and practical production.
Beauty, Wellness & Health
Clear variant logic, compliant information areas and a credible visual system help ranges scale without becoming visually fragmented.
Retail & E-commerce
Packaging must work in hand and on screen. Thumbnail recognition, unboxing and shipping constraints can matter as much as the retail shelf.
Choosing a partner
- Ask to see multi-SKU systems, not only one hero pack.
- Clarify who supplies the final dieline, mandatory copy and regulatory information.
- Require the number of SKUs, concepts and adaptation rounds to be listed.
- Check whether print tests, finishes and material recommendations are included or advisory only.
- Confirm editable artwork and final production-file responsibilities.
- Choose a design team that can explain hierarchy and range logic, not only surface style.
Frequently asked questions
What is included in packaging design?
Depending on scope: pack architecture, concept routes, label/box design, variant system, typography, imagery, production artwork and a range guide for future SKUs.
Can you design labels as well as boxes?
Yes. Labels, cartons, sleeves, pouches, boxes and other formats can share the same master architecture where the product range requires it.
Do you create production-ready files?
Yes when final dielines and supplier specifications are available. Responsibility for legal or regulatory copy remains with the client or appointed specialist unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
Can you redesign an existing product range?
Yes. We can audit current recognition, hierarchy and SKU logic, then refresh the system while preserving useful brand equity.
Can one system work for Irish retail and export markets?
Yes, if localisation, language, claims and production differences are planned in the architecture. Each market’s mandatory requirements must still be verified separately.
How is packaging design priced?
Scope depends on concept depth, number of formats/SKUs, illustration or photography, production artwork and how many supplier-ready adaptations are needed.
Do you provide print-ready packaging artwork?
Yes, when dielines, printer specifications and required copy are supplied or agreed. Final production checks, proofing responsibility and printer coordination are defined clearly in the project scope.
Work with our team
Our team works from Istanbul. For projects in Ireland, we agree the working language, decision makers, review times and delivery formats at the briefing stage. Shooting, printing, permits, media booking and other local services are scoped separately with responsibilities agreed before commitment.
The price follows the approved scope; media spend and external production are separate.
